History Of the Commercial Horse
The Commercial horse, or canadian crossbred, as it is also known, is a crossbred of a light horse, usually a hackney and a draft horse, usually a clydesdale. These horses were originally used to pull milk and bread wagons. Which is how they got the name of commercial horse, doing commercial work. Today you will no longer see them in that job, since they have been replaced by motorized vehicles, however you can still see them at local fairs all over Ontario.

History Of the Commercial Horse Association
The Commercial Horse Association was started in 1967, by a group of showmen who had taken an interest in the canadian crossbred breed for showing and decided to make more of an organization out of it. Over the last 35 years, the association has grown and prospered keeping the canadian crossbred breed going.
